FAQ

Common questions about Delicious.

How the daily menus work, what a free account keeps, where the nutrition figures come from and how to cancel. If your question is not here, ask us.

What is Delicious?

A fresh, full daily menu — breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert — with complete recipes, calories and macros, grocery lists and the option to build your own day around exactly what you're in the mood for. A new menu is published every morning.

Do I have to pay?

No. A free account gets today's full menu — every course — with the complete recipes, ingredients and steps, up to 10 saved favorites, your kitchen diary, and one personalized menu a day. Paid plans add the grocery and shopping lists, the full menu archive and search, unlimited AI menu building, the fridge scanner and pantry remix, calorie & carb targeting, family scaling and more.

What time is the new menu published?

The next day's menu is generated overnight and is on the site every morning. Older menus are never taken down — each day keeps its own permanent dated address in the archive.

Why are there three menus for the same day?

Because what you should cook depends entirely on the evening you are having. Every date is written three ways — Easy for a weeknight, Intermediate when you have a bit more time, and Sophisticated when you are cooking to impress. Same day, three levels of effort.

Do I have to cook all seven courses?

No, and most people don't. The three main meals are laid out first for exactly that reason — cook breakfast, lunch and dinner and ignore the rest, or cook a single dish and build the grocery list from just that.

Can I set calorie or carb goals?

Yes. When you build your own menu you can set a target for calories and carbs and choose whether it applies to each dish or to the whole day, and the menu is planned to land on it.

Where do the calories and macros come from?

Each ingredient line is parsed on its own and matched against a nutrition database, summed across the recipe, then divided by the servings — so every figure is per serving, never per pan. Fibre, sugar, sodium, the fat breakdown and key micronutrients are estimated on request and labelled as estimates. The full method, including what we do not claim, is on the nutrition page.

Are the recipes reliable?

Recipes include measured ingredients, clear steps and per-serving nutrition. They are developed in-house with AI assistance and are not independently kitchen-tested — we say so on every recipe rather than implying a test kitchen we do not have. Always check ingredients against your own allergies and dietary needs, and treat nutrition figures as estimates.

Who writes the recipes and articles?

Everything is published under The Delicious Kitchen, our in-house editorial name. We do not put a real chef's or writer's name on work they did not write, and each article carries a note explaining exactly how it was produced.

Can I swap a dish I don't like?

Any dish, on any day, at any level. Tap Change dish to pick another from the archive, or drag courses into a different order. Day totals and the grocery list rebuild around whatever you end up with.

How does the grocery list work?

Every dish you have planned collapses into one list: duplicate ingredients merged and quantities added together, sorted by supermarket aisle, and with anything already in your pantry removed. Export it as PDF, Excel, CSV or text, or send the basket straight to Instacart, Walmart or Kroger.

Can I cook from what is already in my kitchen?

Yes — that is what the pantry tools are for. List what you have, or photograph the fridge, and we write a complete recipe around it and tell you the few extras worth buying.

Does it work for a family with different needs?

Household profiles let you set portions, allergies and tastes per person, and daily meal plans and grocery lists scale to the whole household rather than to a default of two.

How do I get the recipes I clicked on after I sign up?

If you tap a members-only recipe before signing in, we'll bring you right back to it the moment you create your account or log in.

How do I cancel?

In two clicks, from your own account page — no email, no phone call, nothing to ask us for. Go to Account and choose "Cancel my membership". It stops future renewals immediately and you keep every feature until the end of the period you've already paid for. Change your mind before then and you can resume from the same page.

What happens to my saved recipes if I cancel?

Nothing — they stay in your account. You drop back to the free tier at the end of the period you have paid for and keep everything a free account keeps.

Can I change plan without losing anything?

Yes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect immediately and are prorated, so you pay only the difference for the rest of the period and the new features unlock straight away.

I found a wrong number in a recipe. What now?

Tell us which recipe and what you think it should be, via contact. Corrections are applied to the recipe, and where the cause is systemic we fix the rule that produced it rather than just the one dish.
